In 2015 I joined Hibakusha. A modern metalband from my hometown, Haarlem. Together we made heavy tracks full of tasty grooves and screeching leads until we disbanded in 2022.
In 2015 we released our first EP ‘Incarnation’. This record brought us a lot of great opportunities such as a performance at Dutch metalfestival FortaRock and a last minute show at Euroblast Festival in Köln, Germany.
Fast forward to 2018 and the release of our debut full length ‘Prophet of Numbers’ followed by a release party in “our” venue Patronaat. This truly was one of the highlights from our time together.
In 2019, we were eager to continue our momentum and started the production of three singles. The first, Krakatoa, released at the end of the year marked the start of a new chapter. However, the pandemic of 2020 put a sudden halt to that. The second single, Discovery, was released shortly after but then we were forced to stay put. We took that moment to reflect and ultimately came to the conclusion that our vision diverted too much to continue.
Even though we decided to part ways, we couldn’t let such an amazing time die a silent death. So we released the third single, Ozymandias, in 2022 and gave a goodbye show at Patronaat, celebrating everything we got to do with our family, friends and fans.
I’ll never forget this journey and all the experiences it brought me!
